Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Junior Network Engineer is a contributing member of the DevOps team developing and maintaining the CENGN common platform and related projects, the Junior Network Engineer will support CENGN’s network related operations. Network operations are concerned with providing network services to any data center or WAN related infrastructure and actual test and automation of network related projects. It is expected that a major part of the infrastructure built will be from direct contributions (h/w, s/w, services and engineering) from CENGN’s membership thus creating CENGN’s multi-vendor common test platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of key components of CENGN’s common orchestration platforms
    • Software Defined DC – Enterprise (basically vmware based)
    • Cloud – Service Provider (basically OpenStack based)
    • Key areas of focus will be Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualizations (NFV)
  • Supports the development of key components of CENGN’s test and automation capability
  • Contributes to the delivery of engineering release cycles and development projects in concert with the following players in CENGN’s matrix organization

We are seeking a highly skilled individual for the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN)’s Program Management Office. Reporting to the VP of Program Management, the candidate is responsible for planning and executing CENGN’s projects in a very dynamic environment with emerging network technologies. In this role, the Project Manager will work closely with the CENGN team, CENGN Members and Partners to plan and execute a number of Projects. The role will require management of the operations of the projects and to provide necessary frameworks, reporting and controls to ensure the successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

    • The Project Manager may manage one or more of the different project types for the services offered by CENGN:
      • Proof-of-concept services involving multi-vendor technology and multiple organizations. These type of projects will require a high level of co-ordination, relationships and discipline to be successful
      • Testing/Validation Services – CENGN offered testing services that utilize the CENGN platform cloud infrastructure as well as the WAN (Wide Area Network) and Operations
      • Consulting Services – These services may be in the area of Marketing/Business development, Project Management or technical consulting.Owns and drives development and training of new staff including interns and co-ops
    • As a Project Manager for one or more of these projects, the candidate is required to:
      • Plan, organize and direct all activities as required for the full implementation of project goals and objectives
      • Use Agile methodology and tools to manage the projects
