This is a live in-the-classroom session of NFV Foundations, held at Bayview Yards in downtown Ottawa.

This session of NFV Foundations will take place on June 4, 2019.

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is becoming a common term in the tech community, but what does it mean and why is it important? This seminar will open the door to understanding this important technology, NFV’s role in current networks and it relationship with and Software Defined Networking (SDN). Different NFV applications and vendor approaches to NFV will be investigated. Use cases from CENGN’s ecosystem will also be presented.

Module 1 – NFV Overview
After completing this module, the learner will be able to: Define NFV; Explain the need for NFV in today’s networks; List pros and cons of NFV; Describe ETSI-defined NFV architecture.
