CENGN Announces Jean-Charles Fahmy to Step Down as President and CEO, after Over Seven Years of Service
Today, CENGN announced Jean-Charles (JC) Fahmy will be moving on from his role as President and CEO at the end of June after more than seven years of dedicated service to the organization.
Since joining CENGN in 2018, JC has been a driving force behind the organization’s transformation into a critical enabler of innovation and productivity for Canada’s technology sector. Under his leadership, CENGN successfully delivered over 250 technology commercialization and innovation projects, trained over 2300 personnel in network technology skills, and provided 310 internships. These accomplishments and other CENGN initiatives created over 11,000 jobs and contributed $1.15 billion to national GDP, representing a greater than 10 to 1 return on investment for funders.
More recently, JC led the development of the vision, program, and partner ecosystem for CENGN’s Living Lab initiative, supported by an award of $45 million from the federal government’s Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF). With this transformative initiative, CENGN is poised to continue growing its impact in driving innovation and adoption of advanced tech in Canada.

To ensure continuity, CENGN’s Board of Directors has appointed Boris Mimeur, Senior Vice President of Technology and Engineering Operations, to serve as Interim President and CEO. The Board has also launched an external selection process to appoint CENGN’s next President and CEO.
