The traditional approach to network infrastructure is that each service provider builds their own access infrastructure to each customer, whether business or residential. The Open Smart City Infrastructure and Services project demonstrates an SDN/NFV shared infrastructure with on-demand service provider and end-user self-provisioning portals.

In this CENGN Smart City proof-of-concept from the 2016 OPNFV Summit, Bhavani Krishnan, VP of Product and Program Management at CENGN, demonstrates an open and smart SDN/NFV-driven shared infrastructure and an on-demand service portal for management of a unique smart community.
