How to Build Machine Learning into a Small Business

September 27

3:00pm – 5:00pm

Learn from the pros on how to build machine learning into your organization.

Event Information

Machine Learning is quickly becoming a standard technology and solution across broad sectors of the economy, including Fintech, Energy, Smart Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Medical Technology.

Companies harnessing this opportunity can create a clear advantage over their competitors. Companies that don’t may find themselves left behind.

Many of the skillsets and experience required are in short supply – data, data science, machine learning methods, tools, cloud development and deployment, and high-performance computing. Building machine learning competency in an organization is no easy task. This is especially true for startups and small businesses where every dollar and every staff member counts.

Join CENGN, Invest Ottawa, and a panel of seasoned Ottawa AI/Machine Learning pros to delve into their experience and challenges faced building Machine Learning within an organization. Peter Heath, Senior Manager of Training Programs at CENGN, will moderate the discussion of distinguished Ottawa entrepreneurs.

Mathieu Lemay, CEO of Lemay.ai and AuditMap.ai, Carl Byers, CTO and Chief Strategy Officer at contextere, and Nasrin Sadeghianpour, Director of Machine Learning at BluWave-ai will each bring their perspective to this discussion.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Machine Learning Workshop

September 27

9:00am – 3:00pm

Develop your Machine Learning(using Python) skills with CENGN.

About this event

Machine Learning is a booming field that has captured the global community’s interest. That is why, in collaboration with Invest Ottawa, the Centre of Excellence for Next Generation Networks (CENGN) is presenting a full-day hands-on Machine Learning (ML) workshop.

The Machine Learning course will introduce you to the field, covering motivations, typical use cases, main paradigms, end-to-end ML project workflow and selected methods. And the hands-on labs will help you to understand the powerful algorithms and how to code them using Python and its ML libraries.

You are a great fit if you have:

  • Moderate background in mathematics, especially statistics
  • Basic understanding of standard programming constructs
  • Intermediate level understanding of data analysis
  • An employee for an Ottawa-based SME

Register before September 5th to be part of this in-person learning experience. Space is limited.

Invest Ottawa will reach out and confirm your attendance within five business days of registration.
