We are seeking a highly skilled individual for the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN)’s Program Management Office. Reporting to the VP of Program Management, the candidate is responsible for planning and executing CENGN’s projects in a very dynamic environment with emerging network technologies. In this role, the Project Manager will work closely with the CENGN team, CENGN Members and Partners to plan and execute a number of Projects. The role will require management of the operations of the projects and to provide necessary frameworks, reporting and controls to ensure the successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

    • The Project Manager may manage one or more of the different project types for the services offered by CENGN:
      • Proof-of-concept services involving multi-vendor technology and multiple organizations. These type of projects will require a high level of co-ordination, relationships and discipline to be successful
      • Testing/Validation Services – CENGN offered testing services that utilize the CENGN platform cloud infrastructure as well as the WAN (Wide Area Network) and Operations
      • Consulting Services – These services may be in the area of Marketing/Business development, Project Management or technical consulting.Owns and drives development and training of new staff including interns and co-ops
    • As a Project Manager for one or more of these projects, the candidate is required to:
      • Plan, organize and direct all activities as required for the full implementation of project goals and objectives
      • Use Agile methodology and tools to manage the projects
      • Manage multiple projects in parallel, requiring tracking and planning both people and platform resources thus ensuring resource availability and allocation for each project
      • Establish and maintain relationships with CENGN Members, Partners and other external project teams
      • Build and provide the necessary reporting (schedule, time-tracking, status etc) to executives and Project members
      • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN’s) Business Development team. Reporting to the VP, Business Development & Marketing, the candidate will serve as the interface managing the operating relationships between CENGN and its Hubs, RICs, SMEs, and OCE. The candidate will be ensuring optimal service to SME whose products and services CENGN helps to commercialize.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continually engage SMEs, who are developing technologies relevant to CENGN members, to use CENGN’s commercialization services
  • Foster a relationship with SME’s to demonstrate their product/solution on CENGN’s Cloud infrastructure
  • Manage commercialization program by identifying new commercialization projects involving members, partners, SMEs and students
  • Participate in local and national events focused on building the CENGN brand, recruiting new members, partners, SME affiliates and clients for CENGN services

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN’s) Engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering Operations, the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will work with the intermediate and senior levels of technical engineers and leaders to plan, develop, and support the delivery and validation of CENGN’s virtualization environment, systems & networks. This environment will integrate various CENGN partner in-kind contributions into one cohesive system capable of accepting test and verification projects from CENGN’s membership. The candidate will support CENGN’s operations built around a modern automation framework and contribute to its continuous development. It is expected that a major part of the infrastructure built will be from direct contributions (h/w, s/w, services and engineering) from CENGN’s membership thus creating CENGN’s multi-vendor common test platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain server, storage, network, and security infrastructure
  • Design, implement, and support system monitoring infrastructure
  • Develop and implement internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by other teams designed to increase productivity
  • Create and implement automation for cloud platforms as well as monitoring and alerting purposes
  • Verify and resolve configuration and other non-software related issues
  • Supports the development of key components of CENGN’s automation framework

  • Own and develop CENGN’s courseware style and quality standards

  • Conducting research on various NGN technologies to support different proof-of-concept (PoC) projects
