What is It?

Networking technologies are used to design and create programmable networks that can be centrally controlled. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) are complementary networking technologies that transform and virtualize network infrastructures in enterprises. Software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN) provides orchestration, cloud-based WAN automation and removes the burden of manual WAN configuration and provisioning.

Project Scenarios

  • Improving an SDN controller for Data Centre or WAN
  • Optimizing VNFs with a specified NFVi
  • Increasing interoperability of VNFs with a specific orchestrator

Orchestration occurs when a complex system becomes automated
Transient demand/elastic scaling, or the degree to which a system can adapt to workload changes automatically, more efficient systems can adapt more effectively.

Networking technologies using data centres and infrastructures consume a lot of energy. Orchestrating these technologies can help to manage energy spending.

Automated disaster recovery can help you quickly recover your data and applications between data centres and cloud networks.

Automatic fault recovery can detect, isolate and recover from a fault occurring.

Intelligent service chaining uses network resources to implement services in a more efficient, flexible, and programmable manner.
Virtualized network services apps
Applications that use networking technologies to provide various services
Disaggregation of routing separates a network into its component parts, allowing it to source or improve parts separately.

Path control is a networking approach used to address the needs of storage networks through communication path management.

Public key infrastructures (PKIs) facilitate the secure electronic transfer of information for a range of network activities such as e-commerce.

IPSec (internet protocol security) is a network protocol suite that authenticates and encrypts data packets sent over a network.

Unified communications (UC) describes real-time communication services such as instant messaging or web conferencing.
Business applications using SDN functionality
Bandwidth is the amount of available information capacity per unit time that a transmission medium can handle. A larger bandwidth means a set of data can move faster.

Class of service is a way to manage multiple traffic profiles over a network by prioritizing certain types over others.

Latency-based path changes are those that are measured by the time interval between stimulation and response; shorter response times demonstrate more efficient path processes.
