Customer Experience Enhancement with GIMME360 AR Solutions

by on July 17, 2019

Published: July 17th, 2019

GIMME360 develops a wide range of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) solutions that enhances the way businesses and their products interact with customers. The company was formed in 2016 and operates out of Toronto. At 12 employees strong, GIMME360 is a revenue-generating company with Fortune 500 clients, raising over $1M in funding to support the development of their AR/VR solutions.

Harnessing Augmented Reality for more Informed Shopping

GIMME360 is a business centered around their ARC platform, which stands for Augmented Reality Cloud.  ARC is designed for several different market sectors but GIMME360 has gained a lot of traction in the healthcare and pharmaceutical markets where customers require more information to make their purchasing decision.

The AR technology allows enterprises to design custom objects and 3D animations to enhance their customers shopping experience. Customers using GIMME360 receive these animations through their mobile device when viewing certain products at a store. For example, consumers shopping at a pharmacy can take out their phone and use ARC to view videos, product comparisons, price checks, and other information on the products in store.

One major focus of GIMME360 is to ensure ease of adoption. Enterprises that use ARC can build what GIMME360 calls a digital shelf of their products without needing a deep technical knowledge of AR/VR configuration. GIMME360’s ARC uses a simple drag and drop interface and allows enterprises to build custom objects or select from a library of pre-built objects. In fact, GIMME360 has opened its platform to 3D creators all over the world who earn money by building different objects, animations, and templates that can be accessed and purchased by enterprises using the GIMME360 solution.

Scaling up ARC Capabilities

Major brands are continuously looking for innovative ways to create interactive experiences with their customers. Many brands see GIMME360 as a major opportunity to enhance the buying experience for their customers. GIMME360 is currently looking to develop a digital shelf line of products for large enterprises on the ARC platform. In order to prepare for Fortune 500 companies, GIMME360 needs to first ensure ARC can scale to meet their requirements. Completing a CENGN project will give the business insights on how ARC performs at scale and what product developments need to be made to ensure its ready for such a major customer deployment.

The CENGN Advantage

GIMME360 will be leveraging both the CENGN infrastructure and the organization’s technical expertise to achieve success in this project. On the infrastructure side of things, GIMME360 will be provided 6 bare metal servers and 5 virtual machines. They will be validating that the ARC server has the capability to support the large number of sessions required of an enterprise level client. While doing so they will be measuring the resources, such as CPU and RAM, necessary to scale up their solution.

A key technology that will be used to scale the GIMME360 platform on the CENGN infrastructure is Kubernetes. GIMME360 has never worked with the technology and will be utilizing CENGN’s extensive experience with Kubernetes to identify ways to improve the operation of their platform at scale. By completion of their CENGN project, GIMME360 will have demonstrated the capabilities of their solution and its ability to meet the needs of large enterprise clients. The team at CENGN looks forward to offering GIMME360 access to our infrastructure, technical advice, and exposure to our members and partners over the course of the project!

GIMME360 is a growing Canadian business that is using the services at CENGN through the Next Generation Network Program (NGNP). The NGNP is a Government of Ontario program offered through a partnership between CENGN and the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) that is providing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Ontario access to the CENGN Testbed. CENGN’s digital infrastructure is connecting SMEs like GIMME360 to state-of-the-art equipment and network services, which will allow these companies to test and validate their solutions.
